Play Like a Pro: CrouchingCrouching is a valuable skill for surviving in Liberty City. To make Niko crouch simply press the L3 (left analog) stick down. By crouching, Niko’s aim is more accurate and allows for more precise shooting. Crouching also makes Niko a significantly harder target to hit. In situations where you are required to kill many enemies within a single area, making use of crouch movement to get from cover to cover can greatly reduce the likelihood that you will take damage along the way. Niko can also perform a “hurried” crouch walk by holding the X button similar to running while standing. Cheat O’ the Day: “Poor” WeaponsTyping 486-555-0150 into the cellphone will give Niko the following weapons with full ammo: The knife, handgun, shotgun, molotovs, micro machine gun, Ak-47, sniper rifle and the RPG. Use the cheat several times to fill up ammo reserves for all weapons. Most Popular Gaming Platform for GTA4Ever wonder which gaming platform had the most player interest? Well we decided to find out. So we naturally decided to research metrics on Grand Theft Auto 4 for different platforms, to determine which platform had the most keyword searches and subsequently the most interest worldwide. All the data we used to determine the search popularity was extrapolated from Google Search. The keyword searches we used to get our data was: PS3 GTA 4, Xbox GTA 4, and PC GTA 4. The results may surprise you… PS3:
XBox:
PC:
Not at all what we expected! What really caught us offguard is the PC search results. Could there possibly be some pirating going on there… What do you think? GTA 4 Popularity by CountryWe did some research looking into which countries searched the most on GTA 4 using specific keywords, and are basing it on data extrapolated from Google Search. Our sample keywords to determine this was GTA 4, GTA4, Grand Theft Auto 4 and GTA IV. It turns out that GTA 4 is the most used search term, and beat out all the others by a fair margin. Take a look: Here are the top searches done by country for the keyword “GTA 4.”
Another rather funny thing to note is that none of the Western Countries even made the top 10. Studly Death: Shoot First Don’t Ask Questions LaterAfter accepting a vehicle theft mission from Brucie via email, and being warned that the guy who’s car I was supposed to steal was a drug dealer – I went out to the green blip on my radar to make an easy 1k. The car was parked in an alley between two buildings, so I parked on the sidewalk and proceeded to the car. The dealer and another citizen were standing around the car chatting it up. My brilliant plan was to just run up and steal the guy’s car in one epic maneuver. I ran up to the car preparing to make my heist, and to which the dealer promptly responded by pulling out his mac-10 and gunning me down in short order. Picking Up DebrisIn GTA 4, you are able to interact with the environment of Liberty City in a variety of interesting ways. Take for instance the pick up command. If you hold L1 next to an object such as a pop can or a cinder block, it will cause to Niko bend over and pick that object up. To throw the object: simply lock onto a target using L2. To freelook aim, lightly hold the L2 button and aim using the left analog stick. Go and give it a try! Performing a Drift TurnA drift turn is simply a slide – turn performed at high speeds. Use it for fast and tight cornering through out Liberty City, and to escape those pesky police. To perform a drift turn find a car that has a decent to fast speed (sports cars are the best choice,) then gain speed while approaching the turn you would like to drift around. It helps to begin the drift a bit before the actual turn, as the vehicle will slide out a ways. Hit the handbrake (R1) at the turn and then immediately release it. At the same time hold the brake (L2) and hold the accelerator, (R2) and push the left analog in the direction you are sliding to stabilize the vehicle. This should put you in a controlled slide side ways. Release the brake once you have stablized, and floor the accelerator to pull out of the drift. Mission #1 WalkthroughGTA 4 mission #1 It’s Your Call: The mission begins with Roman asking Niko to assist him with some Albanian loan sharks which he owes money to. This mission requires you to drive Roman to the hardware store on Dillion Street. Once you arrive at the hardware store, park where the yellow arrow is and Roman will give you a cellphone. He will ask you to stay watch outside and call him if the Albanian loan sharks show up. Shortly after Roman enters the store, the Albanians will arrive. Press up on the D-pad to bring up the cellphone menu, select “phonebook” and call Roman. Roman will exit through the back of the store and hop into the car, where the Albanians will follow. All you have to do now is lose the Albanians in a short car chase and the mission is complete. |
